Annual Book Sale by the Friends of Elizabethtown Public Library

Saturday, October 1 from 9AM-4PM
(NOTE: the Library is closed on Friday, but the book sale is open. Please use the rear entrance of the Library, by the parking lot.)

Annual Craft Sale
October 8
October 8, 2011 from 9AM-4PM. Come and browse for ideas, play the Treasure Hunt Game, participate in Raffles, and most of all SHOP!  Benefits Elizabethtown Public Library, a not for profit organization serving the Greater Elizabethtown Area (and beyond). See www.etownpubliclibrary.org/craft_fair for a list of vendors signed up to participate with an idea of what they'll have to offer.
 
October 11 - They Were Still Born: Personal Stories about Stillbirth
9:30 AM - Gathering for Families Grieving Miscarried and Stillborn Babies
Janel Atlas will share from And They Were Still Born followed by an open time of sharing

 

6:30 PM -    Finding the Words through Baby Loss, A Reading (click on the title for more information)

 Gain a greater understanding of stillbirth and the impact on families with 3 of the book’s contributors

Community Knitting Group - whether you're a beginner or an experienced knitter, drop in and work on your knitting projects. Learn from the experienced and get ideas from everyone. Second and Fourth Thursdays 6PM-8PM.
 
Friends of Elizabethtown Public Library - Help support the Library through the sale of donated books. Annual booksale in September/October, ongoing Used Bookstore in Elizabethtown Public Library (volunteers needed), and online sales through e-bay and half.com. Meet to discuss ongoing projects and needs. Creative suggestions welcome. Third Mondays at 7PM.
 
Genealogy Workshop - Library Team Members are ready to help you with your genealogy research. No registration required. Fourth Tuesdays at 2PM
 
New & Improved Recycled Craft Club - a collaborative effort for learning and sharing new ideas for using materials on hand to make useful and fun crafts. Different topics each month with show and tell welcome anytime. No registration necessary - feel free to join in anytime (no obligation necessary). If you would like to get on the email list for this group, please contact information@etownpubliclibrary.org with the subject Recycled Craft Club. Third Tuesdays at 6PM starting in September

Stitch 'n Time - a kaffee klatch for knitters, crocheters, cross-stitchers, and other crafters. Work on your latest project, have a cup of tea or coffee, and enjoy conversation. No registration required - drop in any time! Third Tuesdays at 2PM
 
Writer's Groupfor those who love to write yet have trouble getting anything done without a deadline.this informal band will encourage you in your work and provide constructive criticism to support you in your writing ventures.Bring some of your writing to share and a donation for the Library.Group is facilitated by Georgianna Anderson. Call her with questions at 367-7423.Preregistration is not required, but provides a means for a reminder or notice if a session is cancelled for any reason. Third Thursdays from 6PM-7:45PM.
 
Young Adults/Teens
  • Teen Knitting Club - Join other teens in learning how to knit. Our current group is working to create an afghan. Bring your own knitting needles (size 8) and a ball of worsted weight (medium/4) yarn and learn how to knit today! Weekly - Tuesdays from 6-7PM.
 
Preschool Storytime - Stories, songs, an art activity, puppets & silly stuff! Tuesdays at 10:30 am. (Activities for ages 3 – 6; all ages welcome for storytelling) Limit: 24 children/session for art activity. Baby Time - Gentle stories, songs & action rhymes – a playtime just for baby and grown-up. Wednesdays at 9:15 AM. (Ages 0 – 17 months) Limit: 15 babies/session. To sign up for this free program, please register online through the Library's online calendar, visit the Library or call 367-7467 x23. 
Toddler Time - Singing, dancing, games & stories for toddlers and their adult companions. Wednesdays at 10:30 AM. (18 to 36 months with adult caregiver; NO YOUNGER CHILDREN, please!) Sign, Sign, and Story Time - Introduce your child to American Sign Language a few signs at a time at this special story time. Music and art add to the fun! For children up to age 7 with an adult. Space is limited!Please register online through the Library's online calendar, call 717-367-7467 ext. 23 or visit the Library to sign up for this program.
 
Snorey Time - Special evening story times where wearing pjs is part of the fun. Various storybook characters visit throughout the year, so check the calendar and sign up. The whole family is welcome.
